Plastic Parade
Performance for the exhibition PQUOD from Patricia Jacomella. Gallery Billing Bild Baar, 2018.
Mercé de Rande and Patricia Jacomella have collaborated on different occasions and in different ways. In this case, both the exhibition and the performance are a reflection on the pollution in the planet Earth, especially the exaggerated consumption of plastic.
A historia da pedra
(The stone story)
Performance for the exhibition “Escenas da Prehistoria”
(pre-history scenery) organized by Pontevedra provincial deputation. Tomiño Council Market, 2017
Follow the thread of the story, from the oldest rites and myths that lead us to the stone age. The red thread at the same time links and weaves from:
Lost & Dead in Thunderland; because if this one investigated in the petroglyphs, The stone story bring the history until the Galician myth of the "mámoas", supposedly transported by magician women, (mouras) in their heads.
Between the lines
with Patricia Jacomella, in Manifesta Biennial Zurich, 2016.
Global trends in fashion change fast and are only possible thanks to the exploitative commercial practices of international textile companies. Those who hire their workers in inhumane conditions. Our concept is in a tense relationship between production and anti-production.

Stunt
Site Specific Performance. A 20 years commemoration of Visarti Ticino. Long Lake Festival Lugano, 2016.
Conceived and made for the Patricia Jacomella installation. Stunt reflects the desperation of refugee camps, the limitations of political boundaries that restrict the free movement of the individual. The war involves emigration to new territories, in which people leave behind their belongings and their status as citizens with rights. In your new "refuge" your identity and individuality will be vulnerable.
Erleichterung / Desahogo
Site Specific Performance for Performance Reihe Neue-Oerlikon, Zurich 2014.
A contemporary metaphor of reversed Ophelia myth, because this woman decides not to drown, nor to be carried away by the current. But take advantage of the water as a driver of her emotions to vent. He disobeyed and decided to take a splendid bath at the source of the work road to her house. Enjoying a "public space".
Transaminase
Collaboration with Paloma Ayala, at festival FAR (festival for Art & Research) Ottersberg, Germany 2013
The eyes of the migrant are opened wide, the world is no longer a given and understood object, now it is an incomprehensible "something" that must be integrated day by day. Through the translation and the encrypted dialogue of absurd depth, the artists create a 3D object that they call "transaminase", made from posters and news, from the city they live but they don't understand. They decipher it through associations and word games in their own language.

Deadline
Collaboration with Mohamed El Hagrasy, egiptian actor & director.
Rote Fabrik, Zurich, 2013.
Exploration about the lack of hope and motivation that divides a physical body from its soul. This isolated person, tries to relate and integrate, but he can not overcome the isolation of his soul. Try to get out of his box, to meet new people, with his living body and his true dead soul. It's the kind of beings that bleed sand all the time. Deadline reflects the recent situation in Egypt. The confrontation and death, the assassinations in the protest march, the frustration of the Arab spring and the deep trace of discouragement.
